How it works

Step 1:

Any potential supporter club member must first register as a Manchester City FC supporter and obtain a supporter number, this is free, but is not a “Cityzen” membership, the supporter number is obtained at the following link https://login.mancity.com/register

Step 2

Once a supporter number has been obtained, you can select the Australian branch you want to join. View local branches below. Go to the branch link and select the “Join Branch” button. Make sure you are signed in.

Step 3

Once an application is made to join a club this is sent to the branch, the branch then approves the membership application and sends an email to the applicant advising them how to pay.

Step 4:

Once payment has been received the branch Secretary then approves the membership and City then send the new member confirmation their membership has been approved.

Step 5:

Congrats! You’re now an official supporters club member and have exclusive access to a range of benefits from the club.

Being a Melbourne Blue is about belonging to the Manchester City FC community here in Melbourne. In 2022/23 we had 250 members, these from many different nationalities, our membership also includes many Manchester expats. Our members find the Melbourne Branch club as a place to belong, it provides opportunities to meet and socialise with like-minded Manchester City supporters from Manchester and around the world watching City games live at all hours.

Being a Melbourne Blue is not just about receiving though, it’s about giving back. It’s about not only what can your club do for you, but what you can do for your club and others. The Melbourne Branch is very community minded and we support and donate to local and overseas charities. In 2017 we made the biggest donation of any City supporter club in the world to the Red Cross “We love Manchester support fund”, in support of the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing. We have donated to the Melbourne Food Bank, Beyond Blue, the Victorian blind footballer program, to both Manchester and Melbourne CITC (City in the Community) charity projects and in recent times we have donated to help Australian firefighters and flood victims. During the last 7 years we have donated almost $30,000 to charities and good causes.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

In addition to the annual membership pack, which alone is worth more than the annual adult $20 membership fee,  each year only Melbourne Blues members also receive a unique car sticker in addition to their membership pack. There are many other member benefits, including obtaining match day tickets for City’s home and away games. In 2023 we obtained 20 Tickets for members to attend the UEFA Champions League Final in Istanbul and 70 other tickets for members throughout the season. The Melbourne Branch also has a Gold Season Card which members can apply to use for all Premier League home games.
Popular event include City’s Trophy Tours, when Manchester City FC bring the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and other trophies City has won to Melbourne, in October 2023 we expect to see for the first time ever the UEFA Champions League Trophy. The trophies are accompanied by ex and sometimes current City players. We have had visits from Raheem Sterling, Mike Summerbee, Shaun Wright Phillips, Paul Dickov, Alex Williams and Joleon Lescott, who brought the Premier League trophy to Melbourne in 2022. We also have had visits from Brian Marwood the City Football Group, Managing Director of global football and the Manchester City FC CEO Ferran Sorriano. Our members get to meet these City celebrities, chat with them and have their photographs taken with the trophies. One of the most popular club activities is watching City’s game live at the Imperial Hotel in Bourke Street, Melbourne, where we had over 300 City supporters watch the UEFA Champions League Final. We also hold other functions, including subsidised dinners for our members and then there is the free non-alcoholic beverages for the early morning starts at the Imperial.
